Good Things Come To Those Who Wait, Or Bitch-Whatever

Hi y’all! You know how I’ve been all “I need a new camera! My camera sucks and doesn’t take pictures. Which is precisely what a camera is supposed to do!” and you were all “Shut the hell up about the camera already. We GET IT. You want a new camera and you’re too cheap frugal poor thrifty to spend the money on one, so you’re just bitching and whining until you pester Nikon, Sony or Canon enough and they give you a free one. In the meantime you’re going to annoy the ever-loving-shit out of us! How fun! And exciting! For us.”?

Well, it’s your lucky day. The bitching and whining for a new camera can end. I’ve annoyed someone enough for them to give in and grant my request for a shiny, new DSLR camera. It’s really something I thought would never take a really long time to happen.

So guess what! Early next week a brand-spanking-new Nikon D60, complete with 2 (TWO!!) lenses, a tri-pod and some other odds & ends will arrive on my doorstep! How awesome is that?! How jealous are you?!

And, it’s all courtesy of the lovely people at my dad’s house! That’s right! My very own father got tired enough of me complaining and decided he’d get me a new camera for my 30th Birthday. Which is in December. So he’s calling it a 29.5 Birthday present and has instructed me to not “expect much” for my actual birthday. I told him I’d wouldn’t expect anything. Isn’t that generous of me?

He says it’s entirely selfish and would simply like to see the SCADS of pictures of my children that I’ll be sure to take with my new camera. And I vow to make sure that happens.

But don’t fear! I will still be hitting up the camera companies. There are a few other lovely ladies out there who need a new camera. And byGeorge I’m going to help them get one. PLUS! If Sony, Canon or Olympus (as she kindly pointed out) would like for me to do a product comparison study, from the point of view of a busy stay at home mom, I’d be more than happy to oblige! OR! OR! I could do a product review & a GIVEAWAY for AllMediocre. See!? And? I’m ALWAYS in the market for a video camera! The possibilities are endless!

I am SO SO jealous, though!!

Congratulations. Hmmm, now in addition to begging, I need to make sure and complain to family members, too.

OMG… Am sooo jealous!!!! Congratulations though!
Speaking of camera’s, my brother showed me yesterday his Nikon D60 that I had NO idea he owned… He has a couple lenses as well… I grabbed it immediately and I really was trying to sneak outta there with his camera, but to no avail… he didn’t let that camera out of his sight! It is truly an awesome camera though… He did let me take a few pics with it. I need to start begging and whining and bitching to the big companies myself!!!! My camera is a crappy 4 megapixel one… it’s pitiful, but it works!

nice. i have this great camera, but since i got the iphone that’s all i use for photos. they are not that great — but at least i am taking photos.

I’m LOL at your sister! I totally didn’t think she sounds like a crazy stalker.

Of course, if she were making the trip to Antonio’s just to see me, she might be dissapointed, since I will most likely be a work – Unless I get some time off.

But if I do, I’m totally going to stalk her there. Sounds like I will just need to look for the largest group of lunchers there!!!

By that time, we probably will have moved further north (We have GOT to get closer to our workplaces), but my parents live down here, and so does my oldest son, so I’ll be around!!

Still jealous of the camera… Budman (husband) says there’s nothing wrong with mine, I’m just not doing it right. Grrrr…. C’mon Nikon, Cannon, and the rest!!

Enjoy your new camera. Last month we got a ne wNikon CoolPix P80. It is so fun to have a camera I like now, and I have been taking a lot more pictures than I had been. I love that I don’t miss a shot with it either- the sport setting will take 30 pictures, with one push of the button. Yea, baby!

Congrats!! I’m still trying to use my incessant whining and bitching to get a new pretty lens for my Canon So far hubs agrees with me that I really need one to use my camera effectively…but we also both agree that we haven’t the funds to get one right now *lol* It may be our next tax refund until we do…and I’ll just have to suffer until then

i keep thinking about a new camera. i haven’t started whining about it yet…maybe i should! electronics of any kind are super expensive here so i will at least have to wait until thanksgiving to get one. at what point should i start the whining and complaining to ensure getting one by christmas? i would hate to start too early and overdo it!

oh…and i am having a contest at my blog. this is the first time i’ve ever done a contest so come by for a visit!

Yay for you! I love, Love, LOVE my Nikon…although I only have the D40. But I did buy the extra special lens to go with it. Just don’t ask me about the extra-specialness, because I’m still trying to figure out the darn camera. I just know that I love it.
