I’d been meaning to subscribe and visit more often (check!)
And admit, ashamedly, that I pimped myself out to AllTop. Okay, not really. I submitted myself. I didn’t even know you could do that. But I’m just in the Twenty Something category. No Mom category for me (well, duh, because I’m not a mommy). But I still want to be an AllMediocre gal. Please don’t hurt me

I’ll continue to proudly display my mediocre-ness until someone yells at me and tells me otherwise, k? (I’m almost positive I saw on AM that you can still be an AllMediocre even if you get accepted to AllTop-true?

Hi. I’m a newbie commenter. I really like your post. However since I”m a newbie I have NO idea what Alltop is, or Allmediocre, or whatever. I know this BlogHer convention thingie is big, I guess, so have a great time. How will you all know who each other is? It’s not like you have ever met, right? For example, I don’t even look like my picture on my blog site (but that IS my husband. Just kidding.)
Anyway, I’m a sicko when it comes to checking my e-mail. “Any comments??? Any comments need to be moderated???? Oh, I guess it’s only been 12 minutes since I checked last. But I better check one more time. Someone might be online RIGHT NOW!!!” I know you get me.
So, keep on bloggin and I guess we’ll keep on readin. I wish there were some book out there like “Blogging for Dummies”. There may be. Even if there is, I’d never read it… unless it were published in the text of a blog….

Okay – so I can’t imagine getting more than 8 comments on a post – let alone 39! (I think I’m #39) My blog is just 2 weeks old and I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing with it. I’m glad that I found AllMediocre when I did though because it was just around the time that I was getting overwhelmed by all the badges and stats. It was like a reality slap – I mean, really what is my goal here? World domination? Hardly. I think mainly my friends and family read what I write – but they all tell me what a genius I am and that I should quit my day job – so that’s making me happy right now. I would like to do the BlogHer thing someday – but it’s good to get some perspective early on so I keep the right attitude about it all. Oh – and I put my “0 subscribers” badge up this morning (since I’m VERY good at following directions). But I don’t expect to see much increase since none of the people who read me have any idea what subscribing means!

You know, I have been feeling that the blog world is a little “clique-ish” lately and I don’t want to feel that way, because that is NOT what a signed up for when I started to become a bigger part of the community. I can’t help feeling that way somewhat though.

I like that you say we should get past that, but as you touched on, girls will be girls! I am just going to continue doing things as I do them and get what I can out of it.

Have a great time at BlogHer – can’t wait to here about your experiences.

When I started my blog, my sister helped me set up a lot of things, including Feedburner. She put my count on my blog, and I never thought to question it. But I’ve gotten a thrill watching it go from 2 (her and me!) and climb higher. I jump up and down when it hits a new #, and then am humbled when it goes back down again. Like you, I just like the idea that someone cares enough or is entertained enough to read regularly. It’s a writer’s (and blogger’s) dream, you know?

Yours is always one of my favorite!

Hope your boys feel better (and that you get hours and hours of sleep tonight).

Nicely said. It isn’t about your numbers (my sub is lower than yours) but about what you contribute to the Community. (and it helps to be a big fish in a small pond… the Mom’s category is HUGE)

Just found you today and I’m for sure going to keep checking back. Hopefully I’ll get time to read your archives like Stephanie @ BOB suggests and fall madly in love with you. Either way, I fully agree with what you’re saying about the emotions and almost jealousy you can get about your own blog and comparing to other blogs’ comments and subscribers. Most of us say we do this for ourselves and don’t care if we have 5 or 5 million readers but it’s always nice to be liked!

Life and blogging are a lot like high school. Unfortunately for me, I was a dork in high school. What am I saying, I’m still a total dork. Blogging is a way for me to revel in my dorkiness (dorkitude?). I may be dorktastic but apparently some people like me that way.
