The Miracle of Parenting
If you’re a parent, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
You probably sometimes marvel at the fact that you were capable of creating something so unique, so perfect, so beautiful. You probably planned for it and saved for it. You spent time researching exactly the right things to buy, carefully choosing the exact items that would help to highlight it’s perfection. You may have even dreamed about it. You’ve certainly spent hours laboring over it, gazing at it, smiling in awe.
It really IS amazing what we’re capable of creating…

And please don’t judge me based on how messy Dylan’s room is. We were too busy building a kick ass train system to pick up.

Seriously a kick ass train track.
We have the blue plastic Thomas track set, and when the boys really get a good one going, I have to stand on a chair in order to take a picture of the whole thing. At least one of them is gonna turn out to be an engineer, I swear (building/designing type, I mean – probably not train…)
Great job!

Awesome train track! I’ve never considered using the mega blocks to hold up the track. We’ve got the take along trains. i wonder if their track is sturdy enough to hold up to real height?

You are awesome. you are the queen of Thomas tracks. You are so lucky my boys are out of the Thomas stage (yes, it does end) or I would have to challenge you to a track building competition. We used to have them through the whole house. Of course the boys won’t let me get rid of the track or the trains so I could challenge you but I am so done with the train building stage of my life I can’t even tell you.

Can we come over to play?? Because that train set-up totally ROCKS!!
Because, actually, I want an “excuse” to play with trains too.
And I’m appalled by all above who are suggesting that Thomas and trains are “for boys.” Jenna is nuts about Thomas and goes absolutely crazy whenever we enter the vicinity of a train table (like our library). I think we’re going to have to break down and buy a train table and tracks. Or move in with you.

How long before it was in pieces all over the floor? I even once glued and nailed and screwed our train track together in this cool arrangement. To no avail. The little buggers still figured out how to destroy it.

Meghan that is freaking awesome!!! I know those tracks can be such a pain to put together.
I’ve learned to embrace the Pokemon years. Seeing as I’ve been in them with the boys for…oh…EVER it seems. But it did help me teach them to take care of their things better. They want their Pokemon cards nice and neat so they organize them in books and actually take care of them…
