It’s Bloggy Giveaway Time!!!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

In honor of my new found time suck passion, I thought I’d participate in the Bloggy Giveaways and offer up one of my creations…a baby blanket!

These blankets are made from super soft 100% cotton yarn that’s machine washable AND dryable! Because it’s a heavier weight of yarn, and it’s made using two strands held together, these blankets are weighty and, as a friend who saw them said, luxurious.

Purple Rain:

This blanket is mainly a very pretty lilac color with little bursts of light pink, white and raspberry throughout.  As a mom of two boys, I think it’s quite possibly the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.

Pocketful of Sunshine:

Meant to be a bit more “boyish” this one is mainly a butter yellow with little bubbles of light blue, seafoam green and white.  It’s incredibly cheerful and is, actually, quite gender neutral.

***If you want something that’s very boy gender specific, I’d be happy to make a boy blanket that uses blue as it’s main color.  You’ll just have to give me some extra time to do it!***

***If you want something else entirely, you’ll have to wait until my Etsy store opens in the near future…be sure to check back here for announcements and discount codes!***

To enter the contest, simply leave a comment letting me know which blanket you’d like to win, Purple Rain, Pocketful of Sunshine, or the as yet unnamed and unmade Blue Boy Blanket.  Please leave an email address with your comment, as that is how I will contact the winner.  Only one entry per person, open to US resident’s only.

Contest will close on Saturday, January 31st at 12 Noon.  I will use random.org to pick a winner from all eligible entries and will email the winner at that time.  The winner will have until Noon on Monday, February 2nd to email me their shipping information or I will pick another winner.

Good luck and don’t forget to check out all the great Bloggy Giveaways!

Maybe 30 Really IS Time For A Mid Life Crisis

We’ve discussed it here before…is thirty really time for  a mid life crisis, or should you save it for later in life?

DJ’s 30th Birthday is today.

This is how he’s spending it:

He threw out his back.

Maybe 30 isn’t really too young for a mid life crisis.

Happy Birthday, babe.  Hope tomorrow’s better.

It’s a New Day

I really can’t even put my feelings about today into words, so I figured I’d just say:

She’s a Maniac, Maniac with the Yarn

And she’s crocheting like she’s never crocheted before.

DUDES.  I’ve officially lost my mind.  I’m a woman obsessed.  With yarn.  I can’t get enough.  And each time I find new yarn and make something out of it, it becomes my new favorite thing EVER.  I spend time perusing the goods at this site because, OMG, how awesome are their photos?!  Don’t you want to buy one of everything?!  Imagine the possibilities! They’re limitless!

NO?  You DON’T want to buy one of everything?!  It’s just me then?  Well FINE.  That leaves more for me.

Here are a few of my recent purchases…

And a few of my creations:

And some close-ups, because…why not:

This one is made from Bamboo.  Seriously.  It’s the softest thing EVER.

Hand-Dyed Cotton yarn from Chile:

This one’s wool.  It’s GORGEOUS.

And…because it’s fun.  I have to add a face and two more legs, but how cute is he?  Or she?

And now I must go finish what I’m currently working on. And then start something new.  And then start something else after that.

A Quiz

Q:  What has Zach NOT eaten today?

  1. A Bagel
  2. A Banana
  3. Sand
  4. Applesauce
  5. Stuffed Pretzel
  6. Hand Lotion
  7. Turkey Sandwich
  8. Wheat Thins
  9. Wax
  10. String Cheese

It was a trick question.  He’s eaten ALL of those things today.

I need a shot of tequila glass of wine.

A Bug

It’s happened again.

If you’ve been with me for over a year, you might remember that at this time last year I was semi-obsessed with jewelry making.  And while that’s still on my list of things I’d like to be able to find the time to do, I’m suddenly obsessed with a whole new creative endeavor.

Scarf making.

I’ve found a few patterns on the internet, some GORGEOUS yarns on Etsy and I think I’m going to take the leap and attempt to make a few.

So, bear with me while I completely neglect this here site for a while.  Or, bear with me while I completely bore you with the trials and tribulations of being an amateur crocheter.  Is crocheter even a word?

This one is at the top of my list:

(And, yes, Court, I’ll get to Naomi’s blanket before I get too involved in the rest of it.  Maybe.  But either way, I’ll send you one of my gorgeous creations.  You’re welcome.)
