Heartbroken
It literally physically hurts to have to say this, but the amazing, beautiful, joyful Madeline Spohr passed away today.
We love you, Maddie. We always will.
I don’t have any details…I don’t have any words.
But my heart breaks for her parents, my wonderful, amazing friends Heather and Mike.
I’ll share more when I know more.
In the meantime, the amount of love that I’ve seen expressed today for Maddie, Heather, Mike and their family is truly amazing. We may “just” be internet friends to some, but you’ve all proven tonight that there are no lengths to which we won’t go for each other. It’s inspiring.
Thank you. I know it makes a difference and I know Heather and Mike can feel it.

I stole photos too, for my post coming up in a few minutes – how could we talk about Maddie without showing her beautiful smile? And the ones I’ve taken of her just don’t hold a candle to Heather’s.

My heart breaks for you, for Heather and Mike. Although I never met Maddie, I’ve always felt like I’ve known her. I’ve been reading Heather’s blog every day for almost a year.
Tonight, the only comfort I take is in watching the outpouring of grief and love.
I’m holding my baby and crying into his hair while he sleeps.

I was told about your story on Twitter…
My thoughts and prayers are with Heather, Mike & family.
I can and can’t imagine, I had my son at 19 weeks as well, but they told me they couldn’t do anything. My husband saw him take one breathe and that was it…I’m not sure if it’s harder not to have known him or to have not spent some time with him.
Just remember…there are others out there for you and your family to help you through this.

I am lost. I can’t even believe this has happened. I’ve been bawling all morning. I went to bed, hoping and praying for a happy outcome. I am struck with unbelievable sadness for their family.

I just learned about Maddie’s passing this morning when I logged onto Twitter. So, so, so incredibly sad. I had to hug my daughter and just cry. I know no words will really comfort them right now but make sure Heather and Mike know that we are all out here thinking and praying for them. Dear little Maddie will be missed.

I have no words. There are somethings in life I will never ever undestand and this is one of those things. So many of us never met Heather, Mike or Maddie but so many of felt as if we knew them. My heart was touched by this amazing little girls and her loving, caring, joyful parents. I am amazed and so impressed with the out pouring of love the internet community has expressed. I shows me there are lots of pople out there with really big hearts. I feel blessed to have Maddie in my life even if it was through the stories and pictures her mother shared. My prayers are with them all today.

I’ve been following Heather on Twitter for awhile, but I’d never really read her blog until I saw the Tweet that she was being intubated. I was touched by what I read about Heather’s pregnancy and the early days of Maddie’s life.
I am so, so sad that she died. And grateful for the miracle that was her life.
