So now onto today’s Medicore Topic, would you or did you find out the sex of your baby or did you or would you let it be a surprise?

For me, we wanted to have Giggles be a surprise, but the tech didn’t realize it until she was typing “It’s A Girl!!!” across one of the scans.

With The Chicken I wanted to know, but in true Chicken fashion-she wasn’t going to let me get what I wanted.  I was sure she was a boy until they announced “It’s a Girl!!” at the delivery.

So what have you Mediocre Peeps….to know or not to know…that is the question!

I know, I know.  I sort of left us hanging on that last Mediocre topic Tuesday…or was it a Thursday? Its been so long I can hardly remember.

So to get back into the swing of things here I have a question for you about our new year.  Do you say “Two thousand and ten” or are you of the “Twenty Ten” variety?

I, myself, say two thousand and ten.  I may forget the and from time to time, but hey 2010 has only been around for 2 weeks, we are getting a feel for one another.

So what say you?

So today I had the pleasure of driving 2 hours and 20 minutes south to Columbus today from Cleveland to attend the National Brownie Day event at Cheryl & Co Cookie factory.

I have to say that it was well worth the drive.  Getting to see  bloggity friends that I don’t normally get to see and free cookies & brownies…..SCORE!

But I have to admit, I was almost troubled when they wanted us to cover our brownies in Buttercream frosting.  I love me some buttercream frosting and all, but to slather it all over a brownie…..

In the end I did end up icing 2 of the brownies, but I just couldn’t stomach icing the rest.  I mean, a brownie should be able to stand up on its own.  Maybe I am a brownie snob.  I have been told by many that I many some seriously awesome brownies.  Not a one covered in anything, just the brownie….au natural, or as natural as you can get with a brownie.

So what say you…..do you eat the brownies slathered in buttercream frosting or other such craziness or do you let the brownie do the talking without anything extra.

Can I admit something to you guys? For the longest time I thought that it was called Black Friday because you went shopping when it was dark (aka black) outside.   Let’s not dwell on how many years into my adulthood I was when I realized this was not the case.

I have to admit, I love to shop Black Friday sales.  I love the friends I go with, I love the people watching, and I love me a good deal.  But, (you knew that was coming didn’t you?) I also love to sleep in on days in which I don’t have to wake up before the sun comes up.  So each year I have this Black Friday type of anxiety that builds up inside of me, not sure if I should go out or not.

I am not one of those shoppers that just buys something because it is cheap.  If I get it, its because it is something that is on my list of things to get.  I just don’t know that pushing through the crowds and lines is always worth a little bit more off.

So what say you….are you a shopper on Black Friday or do you stay in bed and laugh at the rest of us out there….I need to know!

Howdy there, how was your Halloween? I trust is was as spooky or as fun as you wanted it to be.  Hopefully it was filled with lots of peanut butter cups. My was until the children’s friends ate them all at our Halloween party because someone put out the wrong candy on the table.  Not that I am bitter or anything.

Todays Mediocre Topic Tuesday is about your computer, specifically what variety do you use Laptop? or Desktop?

Here at Casa de Extraordinaire we have MY iMac (which is a desktop) and then we have MY macbook pro (laptop) But I am forced to share with hubs.  Still totally not bitter

I prefer the Laptop most days, mostly for its portability and even when I’m engrossed in whatever on the computer I am still ‘there’ with the family.  The desktop is great for its speed and its memory, but I am secluded in my office and the family doesn’t much appreciate that.

So what say you…..Laptop (or netbook)? or Desktop? We all really need to know!

Hey there I can’t believe its a T day again.  Where does the time go?  Really, stop thinking about it…that was a rhetorical question.

Todays Mediocre Topic Thursday is inquiring about your slumber habits, or more specfically where you slumber.  Are you a ‘I dont’ care where on the bed I sleep as long as sleep’ person or are you a ‘Get off of my side of the bed are you crazy I have to sleep there’ kinda person.

Me, well….I am the latter.  Many a years my hubs was not home due to him out being a sailor and all.  This lead me to sleeping on our bed with our 2 small girls (at the time because GAH! Have you seen them they are like trying to grow up on me or something!) I always slept in a certain spot on the bed (right hand side if you are laying it it, left hand side facing it) A.L.W.A.Y.S.

Most nights hubs will leave me in my spot because I go to bed a few hours before he even thinks about it.  But sometimes he likes to think he is sneaky and sort of nudge me over to the other side so we can cuddle better.  I always wake up….sometimes I make some excuse to get out of bed so I can climb back in my spot, others I get up if its time, or sometimes I let him snuggle up to me when he is on MY side of the bed.  He grumbles when I make him deal with the alarm clock over there though…that’ll teach him.

So are you flexible with your spot or do you have your ‘ass grooves’ so to speak where you want them and you aren’t up for sharing!

Happy Thursday to my Mediocre Peeps (in name only, of course) While reviewing a movie this week in which we already have on VHS, it got me to thinking.  When I was younger we had a BETA player and VHS was the next new thing.  Although friends of my parents were convinced that VHS was just a fad and it was BETA all the way baby….until BETA died and VHS lasted a lot longer than they thought. (Longer than LaserDisc…LOL)  And then looking at my van (its a 2003) with its dual CD and cassette tape deck player, it got me thinking…..does anyone even have cassette tapes anymore?

So my Mediocre Peeps…if you had to choose one obsolete item to keep would it be the VHS tapes or the Cassette Tapes?

I would go for the VHS tapes, we have about 300 of them from our days with the movie channels in the late 90s. If you wanted to watch it on the VCR, we had it.  We also have all of the Disney movies they put out on VHS….which I won’t be buying DVDs of, unless that magnolia in my backyard suddenly turns into a money tree.

So, what’s your obsolete tape of choice?

Howdy again to my All Mediocre Peeps.  Where are you? We used to have lots and lots of comments on the MTT and now, not so much.  Don’t make me get a complex and totally tell us what you think today.

Lately a lot of friends have had babies or are going to have babies soon-ish.  So now I have that saying “Sugar and Spice and everything nice. That’s what little girls are made of”  So it got me to thinking.  What if you had to pick Sugar or Spice for your little girl.  What would you pick?  Me personally, I am not sure.  I have a sugary girl-The Chicken and I think that my spicey one is Giggles, but she isn’t always.

So what about you? What would you like or what do you have.  I really wanna know!

Happy Thursday to you all.  I hope that your week is going well.  Our has been great, especially with hubs extra day off this week.  We used that time on Wednesday to really get a lot done on the outside of our house.  The house next door to us was foreclosed on and the bank finally put it up for sale.  I took our “honey do” list outside so that we could hopefully get better neighbors  because our home’s curb appeal went up a ton!

Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved to finish up the shelving in the kitchen, or started on the million other projects going on in the house, but I felt that the curb appeal was something that needed to be done.  We didn’t rush out and spend a bunch of money, in fact everything we did with stuff we had, but it made a HUGE difference.

So, when it comes to homes do you think it is important for a house to have Curb Appeal or would you rather have the inside all nice and have Inside Zeal? that is the question.

Yes, folks, once again its that time-Its MTT! This Tuesday was spent with me in a slight drug induced haze as I had very minor surgery done on my left foot.  As I was writing out the check for the co-pay, I realized it was September 1st.  Now most of your are all “Duh of course Tuesday was September 1st, what do I need a reminder for?” But last September 2nd I was dealing with this because of an injury I sustained on September 1st.

Am I jinxed or do I really love to torture myself on September 1st? Because if this is a trend I am really wondering what is going to happen next year.

All of this is going somewhere, I promise.  I was thinking about last September 1st and then this one and thought I wonder if I had to chose Hand injury or Foot injury, what would I chose.  Honestly, I would chose the foot.  While it is hard to hobble around I can still do things with my foot propped up.  When my hand and arm were casted I couldn’t do much and I H.A.T.E.D. it.

So my Peeps, which would you prefer for an injury; Hand or Foot.  And neither is not an answer!
